I recently upgraded my Firmware to 2.0 last week. Today I just noticed that while I was playing a movie, I noticed that my reciever is not recieving a Dolby Digital signal from my HD DVD. I am using the optical for audio.

I tried switching connections just in case with my other DVD player and used Optical and it was working well. Also tried using the HDMI from my LCD and use optical/coax from the LCD to the receiver.

I tried different HD movies and even regular DVDs. I even played a movie using DTS it actually works but not as a digital signal but as Pro Logic to my reciever.

Is there something I should changed on the Audio settings on my A3?

Should I update my Firmware?

Check your audio settings on the A-3. I recall that when I upgraded the firmware on mine all the settings were reset to factory default. You need to be sending Bitstream, not PCM to your receiver to get DD or DTS
