I have a 2001 CRT 1080i HDTV with only Component HD inputs. Is there a software upgrade or hack that will allow these players to upconvert regular DVD's to 1080i over Component like they can do with HDMI?
The only way you can upscale over component is if the discs are not CSS-protected. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader as to how this would be accomplished with retail movie discs.
