Probably because it is not going to be on ESPN in ACC territory anyway. Also, is there some reason some people are adverse to capital letters?
i didn't think it mattered you knew what i was talking about
I think that its an age thing. Younger people do not have the same emphasis on grammer or syntax that older folks do. So the younger crowd is like WGAF? while the older crowd is thinking "This idiot never learned to capitalize proper nouns".
Cf is right all the Friday games are on ESPN2 HD. Thursday and Saturday still show up on ESPNHD. That will save a lot of room on my HD PVR :(

Grammer???? Or spelling, apparantly.
Why are you guys even making this an issue? Big deal so he didn't want to use capital letters.

Back on topic: Look just because espn2hd is broadcasting most the acc games, I don't understand why you would want to drop ESPNHD. This now puts pressure on the providers to pick up the channel.
I think it matters if you want to be taken seriously.
maybe i was a little angry at the time but i am still upset with the lack of hd content. i don't even consider espn a hd channel anymore. but its better than nothing i guess. the reason i made a fit about the acc tournament is because our local upn carries acc games but they don't broadcast at high power.

notice all lower case letters

Indeed.

It doesn't matter if someone occasionally makes a mistake in structuring a sentence, or uses the word "grammer". But to abandon the attempt to communicate correctly is foolish. In fact, it is typically the uneducated who claim that the basic rules of English don't matter at all. Since they can't get close to communicating in a proper manner, they try to convince themselves that it doesn't really matter, and that their method of communication is equally legitimate.

It also makes it easier to read when proper sentence structure is used. I tend to skim over posts that aren't easily read. I don't mind lack of capitalization or misspellings in the quick response world of IM or chat, but in forums there's less of a need for speed as it isn't a real-time conversation. This is especially true when you're the OP of the thread.

The who cares attitude is what led to the teaching of Ebonics in schools at one point and why "ain't" is now in the dictionary.

I just made a simple comment about ESPNHD lack of HD programming. I would also like to stay on that topic. Its been almost a week since any live HD content has been shown. that is why i made the comment on rather having Fox Sports Net instead of ESPNHD.

it really doesn't matter if i use caps or not this is not formal but i used caps to see if anyone will notice.
The reason because ESPN does not have any content is because all of their production crews are getting ready to do the Big East, Big 12, ACC games in HD.
So as a D* user, I'm still assuming I'm screwed as far as ACC tourney in HD.:(

Maybe ESPN should take those HD cameras out of the Sportscenter studios with those silly newbie anchors and get them to some auditoriums! How about some HD basketball games?!? And what are the MNF and SNF cameras and crew doing? Collecting dust? It's college basketball season, so maybe those should be put to use for once...(end sarcastic rant)

BTW, I don't know about grammar and stuff being an age thing. I work at a journalism organization (computer related job; I'm not a writer) and there are 50+ year olds who make the silly your / you're errors or the to / too / two errors all the time. I also know people who are English teachers (yes, English teachers) that are pretty bad with spelling and grammar. I'm in my early 30s, so I'm not that old:cool:, but I've noticed these problems for a while now, and it ain't isolated to a younger age group or even professions not required to write.
