Good Day,

I recently purchased a new router (Netgear AC1900) and was thinking of turning it into an access point to extend the range of the WIFI onto the second floor of the apt. that I am moving into.

My ex. said that the old router no longer works (according to Time Warner) so she purchased a new router and I took the old Netgear WNDR 4500. Apparently Time Warner made several to "talk" to the router but no access.

If I can get it working, would it be worth trying to make it an access point to extend/increase the wifi signal? Would 1 be just fine, Probably, but if I can use 2 and it helps then why not use it.

Also is this the best way to do it?

Disclosure: **Understand I do NOT work for netgear or time warner or trying to "sell", "market" etc their products.

Thank you!
