Accuracy of Ampro SIP program calculations?

I have an Ampro 4600 that I am finally ready to hang in my theater. I have the factory 2 pipe mount which I wish to use to mount it to the ceiling. The problem I am having is believing the measurements that the SIP mount calculations program is reporting.

I have a 120†Stewart Luxus Studiotek 130 screen that I will be using for display that I am figuring to be mounted with center of the screen 54†from the ceiling. With the 100†width it suggests I only need to have a 1.9†pipe for my projector mount. Now everything I have seen about projectors and from experience is that the lenses should be even with the top of the screen. With the suggested SIP figures the lenses would be about 15-20†higher than the top of the screen.

I want to get this projector mounted but I am unsure about the figures from the program.

One other point of interest is that I have a tray ceiling in our theater and the projector will reside just inside the tray. I have accounted for the difference in heights when doing my calculations.

I personally would forget the program and do what you first suggested. Even with the top of the screen or better yet just below or inside the top of the screen.

Always set it up on the floor on a movable dolly of some kind first.

Walter Allen told me on the 4600 (and every other PJ except the NEC's) to max out the width and push it as close to the screen as you want (your width)

Hit flyback wide (not in the os help menu, but in the manual ) forgot the code and don't have it in front of me. I will PM you when I can get to it

Press [#2] then [test] not [test only] this is closer to your expected drive conditions, or of course better still, your intended source and test DVD

Doing everything on the floor will save any headache later.

180 lbs overhead is no fun changing twice
