When is it gonna be released in the states? is it true that there's gonna be a version with 2 cores? I want one reaaally bad but ive read its crappy when it comes to play utube , flash videos and some hd videos with really high bitrate, so im hoping the dual cpu will solve this problem, what do u guys think?

Dual core is not a benefit in all situations since many applications such as most that involve the playing of video can only use one core at a time. For these applications it is often better to have a sinngle core that will run faster then either of the cores in a dual core system can run at.

so far, the dual core atom 330 on my ASRock ION 330 is working well, and the dual core certainly helps with the virtualbox instance running in the background, as well as other things I'm sure.

If you want a dual core Revo, get the ASRock ION 330, almost the same, actually better, since it supports int. optical drives (dvd, blu ray)

Promises of a dual-core Acer Revo are probably not going to make it to market imho. Indeed, Acer just announced what appears to be their future direction: the just announced "Veriton N260G" (dropping "Revo" name - interesting) sports the somewhat improved N280 Atom CPU along side Intel's latest "GN40" chipset. Single core Atom CPU with the embedded "4500" (and unfortunately NOT the "4500HD) GPU probably means Acer & ION are headed in opposite directions.

Here's a SlashGear article citing the announcement

While tremendously lower in power consumption (than either the stock Atom chipset found in all those Netbooks today or the nVidia ION at something like double the stock Intel chipset), the Intel GN40 chipset will apparently be able to do 720p (adequate for the Netbooks for which it is targeted) but not full 1080p. That qualification on 1080p was a recent admission by Intel that it'll support "Internet streamed" 1080p but is not capable of handling the bitrates of BluRay.

Other than Acer coming through on the outstanding Timeline laptops, I'm growing extremely tired of waiting for Acer to get their US act together on their Nettops. And, as other posters have indicated, that ASRock ION looks to be an all around better machine anyway - and sports a DVD (or BluRay) drive as well

Guess i won't be buying the aspire revo at all then =/ , all i wanted was a player where i could watch my hd videos/movies on my hdtv flawlessly , without trouble with high bitrate files; i was planning on buying the western digital Western Digital WD TV HD Media Player but i was shocked to find out that it wont play the audio on movies with 5.1 , what do u guys recommend? that asrock ion seems really nice, but i dont think it was released on the u.s. and i dont think it will be =(

What a letdown turned out to be the revo, it can play flash videos properly wtf is that? e.e and the new Veriton N260G does not look like it's going to be much better =/

It's an optical illusion
It's not much larger than most mini-itx cases with an optical drive bay: 195×186x70mm.

As for cheaper, that link is for a bundle that includes 2GB RAM, a 320GB HD and a DVD drive. ~$350 is really quite good for a complete system. You really couldn't do much better building your own.

I haven't seen a price on the BluRay-equipped model anywhere (let alone the US), so no clue on what premium that'll bring. Personally, I think the prices on slim BluRay drives are due to plummet and I can live with "only" DVD for the time being and upgrade later.

The box, itself, is imho extremely small for what it can do and appears to still provide adequate (and quiet!) cooling based on the various reviews out there.

As for the price, it's an absolute steal at that feature level. Just go ahead and price out what it would take to build the same thing with, say, one of the Zotac dual-core boards to verify.

Ease of use is a OS/application issue.

I spend most of my time in Win 7 Media Center, and have a wireless MS keyboard and remote which works well in 7MC (of course). I've heard that other remotes can integrate with windows as well, and offer play/pause/ff/rew, etc in different applications, depending on how the app was written (eg: 'watch for Play button code, or keyboard P'). Some remotes come with learning/macro functions to learn other apps and their codes.

I ended up programming the MS remote and some of the keyboard into my Harmony remote.
