From here in the USA, I don't know how "awesome" any DLP releases are that are limited to Europe, as this one seems to be.

The BenQ W1300/W1400 have been out of reach for the USA. Likely as well with the Euro BenQ items mentioned in the link.

I wouldn't judge by the manufacturer claimed contrast spec. And no DLP has 10000:1 native contrast, not even those which cost $30k+. And certainly H9501BD didn't have 50k:1 measured contrast. It's only "on paper". On test it had 2000:1-2500:1. And Acer's new model will fare well by just showing the same native numbers. Also, all new DLP TI 4244 DC3 chipsets go with new dimmable bulbs which allow for dynamically changing of light output depending on illumination of a scene. And they all specify 10000:1-15000:1 as contrast. Those that specify higher numbers usually have a dynamic iris to boot. But they don't measure as high as they specify either (look for BenQ W7500 review). And maybe this time Acer decided to put a number which more closely resembles the truth, that is all.

What's more impressive about this projector is features vs. price ratio. Frame interpolation, 2D-to-3D conversion, WLAN, lens shift... For 1250 Euro in Europe and most likely 1250$ in the states. Very nice I'd say.

The ACER H9505BD is actually in my room, I can't say that it's a progress in comparaison with the previous Model.
Review will be online Friday.
and about the rbe? it seems that the former 9501 is not very good to who suffers from rbe...

Look at those luminosity errors! I saw they measured overall brightness with bc on/off (odd results there), but did they bother taking a color reading with it off? That should help their Y-de a ton.
