The ACI SV12 are on clearance for $75:
http://www.madisound.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=8639

Do these sound clean, as compared to a Peerless 830500 12" XLS? They do have a low Fs, high efficiency, and about the same Xmax, but they like a bigger box. If so they are a bargain.....providing Madison has better shipping quality control than ACI did (referring to this thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1166544 ). Has anyone used these? I would think two in a sealed box (or separate) would be a great bargain build with good SQ....

I ordered two from ACI when they were having their sale.

Nice looking driver, too bad I haven't made use of them yet.

For what it's worth in that thread you linked, I'm fairly confident ACI will fix my issues. I have read that their customer service is top notch.

Having said that, I did read a decent amount on that 12", and the subwoofer it was used in got great reviews. You can find reviews online.

I picked up a couple of the SV12's and popped them into a sealed enclosure I already had and they sound very good for the price.

A pair for $150 + shipping is a no brainer for me. I just wish I would have gotten some of those SV15's but they were sold out.

Very good subs that are easy to drive and priced right.

Come to think of it TundrSQ should chime in. I asked him about the SV12's as he put a pair in a 4 cu ft enclosure driven by a ED LT/1300 and he really likes them. He previously had a 15" TC-2000 with a Crown XTi before that if I remember correctly and he appears to be more happy with the ACI combo.

I just looked up his thread and here it is:
