Hello,

Please can someone tell me what is the difference between Gik acoustic panels and the minitrap that cost 3x as much? I looked and couldn't find any major differences. Seems to me $200 for 1 piece of 2x4 that consists of a piece of fabric and some woods is a little bit much? I figure it would cost somewhere in the neighbor hood of $25-$30 to make one piece? So, I don't mind Gik asking price of $69. Seems fair and reasonable. But $200? Tell me there's something special about the minitrap.

Nevermind. I received a very thoughtful response from realtrap. Seems as though the material they put inside the trap and the metal frame used do justify the cost...

Make your own for $20 to $30 each. I spent $550 for mineral wool and AT fabric. I already had the lumber. I made 20 panels and I have enough mineral wool panels to make 4 more and enough fabric to make 6 more.

Thank you guys for the websites. I didn't know about them. What I conclude about realtrap is that they're geared more toward the "perfectionist" type. An analogy would be spending $10,000 over a $3000 speakers to just gain that extra 5% improvement. I suspect it is the same thing here with these panels.
