Activate Zone on a CAM6.6 without keypad

I would like to activate a zone on my Russound CAM6.6 without a keypad. I have a regular russound volume controller (single knob) that I insalled in my basement attached to speakers. I rather not spare the expense of a keypad in this area. Can that zone that I am hooked to be turn on without a keypad?
