Hi All,

I have blueray player (hp laptop) with a HDMI out, which is nice, but the amp I have has either a Digital or Optical INPUT and the moniter only has a DVI INPUT. Does anyone know if a adaptor or a device that might be available to make me use this setup?? Or do I need to get stand alone Blueray player????

Yes I saw those adaptors but I still cannot get the digital audio signal out from my laptop to the amplifier.

Laptops usually don't have S/PDIF output (Coax/optical) unlike current motherboards for desktops. There might be something you can do with USB output if you can get the audio bits to be send out a USB port and use something like this: http://www.hagtech.com/hagusb.html The best thing to probably do is just get a new receiver. You can get an HDMI based receiver for less than $200. It won't be the best but it will solve your problem.
