Is there a USB dongle one can get that would allow using the Apple IR remote with a Macintosh that doesn't have built-in IR?

I've used the Keyspan RF remote, and it's nice, but I'd like to get an IR input so I can use the Apple remote.

Check out IRTrans. It's a usb IR receiver that works with about all remotes, even tv/cable box remotes. You'll want to use iRed with it. Another great utility is "Remote Buddy" it will work with Ipod Touches, iPhones, Bluetooth Phones, WindowsMCE remotes, and even Wii controllers. Remote buddy also allows amazing customization to the Apple Remote, and full computer control with just those 5 buttons.

PS: Nightfly is correct Mira is your best choice for an IR receiver for the apple remote.

Hope that helps.
