I think its about time that ReplayTV got a "section" and not just a single "forum", ala Tivo!


Several Categories:


"Underground" (Discussion of hacks, secret codes, etc)

"Bargains and Deals" (Discussion of best prices, people selling, etc)

"Features" (Questions about current features, suggestions for future features)

Here's why it won't happen:


1) In addition to Tivo, there are already two forums that have more activity than the Replay forum, each of which has a better argument for splitting (I go to the HDTV forum and would like to see a split between hardware and software).


2) The reason Tivo has this community center is because Tivo generously paid for it.


I say be happy about our forum. Yes, we've experienced some discord recently, but that will all blow over when everyone gets their new software.

I think you 100% absolutely missed the point.


1) Adding more forums takes about 10 minutes for the web designer. It doesn't cost them anything either.


2) Be happy? I'm not complaining about the forum. I'm saying that some division of topics would be helpful.

Having said that, I wouldn't object to splitting the forum into two sections, and have one labelled "Sensible ReplayTV discussions" and have the second one labelled "ReplayTV bitching and moaning forum"! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Actually, I WOULD ! I am a web designer, have been since 1995. Message boards can take up a lot of space, but remember, it's just TEXT. 1 MB is equal to a MILLION characters of text. That's quite a few Showstopper complaints http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

My vote would be to keep the forum as it is, otherwise it would lake alot longer to browse 3 or 4 forums to see all the Replay posts.

You're kidding right? In the past 24 hours something like 40-50 threads were posted in. You didn't even SEE them all unless you went to the 2nd page of topics.
