I've had my Ref 50 since Thanksgiving, and I love it. I do here the "noise", but it doesn't bother me. I've got version 1.0.


My question is this: If I add a DVD-A/SACD player how does the Ref 50 handle the 7 speakers? I see in the software suite that I can enable the DVD-A to all 7 speakers. Does the Ref 50 duplicate the side surrounds into the rears? I could not figure out in the manual. B&K is not really known for their manual writing. I have not added the 2 rear speakers yet. I'm trying to figure out which to add first the player or the speakers.


Also, when I do upgrade to 7.1, what will come from the rears while playing 5.1? nothing? anything?

I've got a preset for DVD-A in my Ref50. It sets the speakers to "5 side". While I do have 7 speakers, I have found only this speaker setup works for true 5.1 audio.
