I'm trying to add surround sound to go with HK AVR135 receiver that until now was driving a pair of JBL S26II speakers.


I will continue to use this system to listen to music so keeping that in mind what would you recommend:


1. Keep JBLs and add surround boxed set (some 5.1 for $300). Will any do? Can you recommend a specific set that would work well here?


2. Get rid of the JBLs and buy a 7.1 boxed set. Will this sound just as good for music than the JBLs?


I will not be able to sell the JBLs for much so financially speaking I'd like to keep them.

I would think you'll have a hard time matching the S26II. I did a search on the JBL site and didn't find any info on them. Unless you can find matching speakers on ebay. I didn't see any there either, at this time anyway.

There are currently 3 matching S center channel speakers on E-bay right now. These are very nice center channel speakers and will cost about $150. This is the center that matches your s26's. Also look for some S38's or another pr. of s26's. I see them frequently on E-bay.
