Ok.. I sort of know what I am doing and for the most part I don't...

I am getting a new HDTV and a new Upconversion DVD player for it.

How do I connect the "new" DVD players audio to my "Out of the box" surround sound DVD player system... So that I have surround sound with my new player through my old amp/dvd player? Does that make sense?

My old system has one optical/digital Input

2 standard RCA Audio Inputs Both having left and right channel

I hate to sound like a total newbie about this.. But will the digital out on the new player going in to this one give me surround sound through the amped system?

Thanks for any help

It will work just like any other dvd player,Just run the video to your tv and the audio to the avr with an optical cable.
