Additional layer of GG & sheetrock, or Linacoustic, to silence fan?

I'm using one of those quiet Panasonic bathroom fans for ventilation in the HT. But, it's still not quiet enough. :)

I plan on building a sort of hush box around, with the bottom part of the box extending down from the ceiling about a foot, and with some baffles in the part that's hanging down. I will build the box from leftover particle board and 5/8" sheetrock, with GG between the particle board and sheetrock.

A question for anyone who has worked with GG before. Would it be better to line the interior and baffles of this two-layer, open ended box with Linacoustic, or to use a second layer of sheetrock (with a second layer of GG)?

Thank you for any comments.

this fan is blowing straight into the theater? so there is an open air path from fan to theater?

if so, the linacoustic is preferable to GG.
