Advice and Guidance on a Sony 4K Projector

Hi all

Hello all, just recently purchased a VPLVW500ES have currently calibrated it to what i think it should be but have a few questions if someone could help me out.

Current firmware is v1.006 - ive seen there is a v1.100 would this be the latest or anything newer than this again?

To really see the true beauty of this projector, before watching any content on it should i be letting it warm up first for a certain period of time before watching a film to see the true colours and deep blacks?

Is there any calibration settings you guys have used or something i can calibrate myself using settings or a template to follow? What content should i be playing for calibration

The reason im asking this i have it linked to my Kodi on my main system and the screen has a white haze over the screen but i think thats probably down to a large bay window in the day brings daylight across the screen. I have not blacked this out. Settings look right im aware that it could be i have blocked out all the daylight and thats the source of the problem. Any thoughts?

The bulb only has used around 800ish hours.

Any other tips is greatly appreciated.

Perhaps post some pictures of your settings, so we can see how you are currently configured. And yes, that white haze could be related to light, as projectors don't really hold up well contrast wise when exposed to ambient light. Here's a link to the Sony site about the 1.1 update:

I guess the simple question is; do you see this same haze at night time?
