Ditto to the above post.. If the buyer likes klipsch, and that's not a huge longshot for ht , but for music they are a coin flip...

Aren't many 5.1 speaker sets that can be had for < $900. It is a great first system, but it is very, entry level.

Unless he's in a big hurry to get something ASAP, I'd tell him to sit tight and wait for the next Infinity Reference sale...his money would go much much further. I would expect them to go on sale by the end of the summer, or around Black Friday as they have in many years past.

Their sale prices, if memory serves:

• R253 towers, $300/pr (or the bigger R263 towers, $400/pr)
• RC263 3-way center, $160 ($350 refurbed most recently)
• R152 bookshelves for surrounds, $130/pr (or the bigger R162 bookshelves, $160/pr)
• R12 subs, $180 ea. (I'd advise him to get 2 depending on his contiguous cubic footage)
