Hi,

I'm looking to buy some mid range speakers (~2000-3000) range and have found a pair for sale locally. I will be able to go inspect and listen to them at the owner's home. Other than listening and obvious physical inspection, is there anything I can look for to ensure they are in good condition?

Play them as loud as you can stand it - and make sure you do not hear distortion.

Yeah I am just wondering how to tell if anything is damaged that might not be super obvious. Like if they were used at very loud levels for too long etc. is there any way to tell?

I would listen for clean, clear sounds at all levels.

Take some of your music with you - I would test at the loudest level that you can stand.

Make sure, that they do not sound distorted - and also with no popping or scratchy sound.
