I have an LG 32LX1D that's over a few years old. For a little over a year it's been demoted to my secondary TV mounted on a wall in my bedroom near the ceiling. For the all of the TV's life I noticed a fan that continued to run with the TV off.

This hasn't been a problem for the most part, I never bothered calling customer service or trying to get it replaced under warranty because it always performed fine. I figured the fan probably didn't draw much electricity.

Well, the other day noticing that the fan still runs when off and it feels warm on the top vents after being off for 10 hours, I decided to plug it into a killawatt. This thing draws 110watts when turned off! Any ideas? Will I probably kill the tv eventually if I put it on a surge protector and turn it off when not in use?
