Advice needed

All, I have Martin Logan Motion 12 speakers(4 ohms) driven by Pioneer VSX-32(8 ohms). I want to get an external amp, like the Bryston 4B ST, and use the VSX-32 as a preamp. These are the only speakers for now, and I mainly use them for classical music listening. Would this external amp make a big improvement in sounding, I wonder if it is worth the extra cost. Thanks!

IMO, a big yes - actually a must. Will also prevent damage to the receiver from overheating and damage to the speakers.
Thank you. I like the Bryston 4BST amp, it is about 500watt at 4 ohms, will this possibly overpower or damage the ML Motion 12(150 watt each)? Thanks again.

No it won't, a VG amp and it will be a great match.
Thanks Steven, what is a VG amp?
VG = very good! Once owned a Bryston 3B and was very pleased.
