planning to upgrade my cheapie $20, 25' HD15 to 5BNC cable to 5 runs of RG-6 with proper 75ohm connectors. To connect to my videocard I need a decent "pigtail" adapter, I've searched through some old threads and have found a couple of Extron ones that are decent, but I have no idea where to purchase something like this.. can anyone point me anywhere where I can buy one of these, probably looking to spend around $50 USD for something under 1 foot long.

seems like a decent deal, but am I going to be losing a lot of quality compared to the Extron or something higher end?

I bought a dozen of these on ebay for like $7.

Best thing in the world to switch to thick BNCs.

MUCH better than the cheap VGA->5BNC cables.

I've also got a couple of the Extron molded adapters. They're just bulkier.

With short short cables like the 1' you are talking about I sincerely doubt you'd see any difference between the $5 ones or the $50 ones. It is however a very different story when you reach much beyond 10'.


Just about any fully double sheilded short breakout will be identical in performance. You may find better results with the little breakout clarence uses and good individual cables than having an extron in the mix at all. Many of the extron's I've had exibited far less than ideal performance and even with 25' run straight individual cable off a cheap breakout was far better.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I've been looking for an adapter like the one Clarence posted a picture of, and I haven't had any luck. Anyone know where I can find one?
