hey guys,
New to the fora
. Would appreciate any advice or ideas on how to fix a problem; have trawled through the fora and tried several fixes without any difference.
Previously had a simple setup - PS3 to pioneer vsx lx-50 to Sony bravia kdl46z4500 all connected via hdmi. Worked like a charm for years, no problems. Used it last night without any problems. Got an Apple TV today and tried to hook it up into the 2nd hdmi port on the pioneer receiver. Turned everything on; hdmi led lit up and stayed on. Looked promising. Got sound from both PS3 and Apple tv coming through my receiver and surround speakers. But no image whatsoever on the TV.
I've
A) checked and rechecked cables are snugly into ports at all ends
B) swapped cables around so Apple tv and PS3 exchanged ports on receiver -no change - sound yes, image nada
C) changes hdmi ports on the TV, no help
D) connected Apple TV directly to TV via HDMI - works well
E) double checked that the right inputs are selected on receiver (no upoccupied ports as it only has 2), and TV
F) factory reset both TV and receiver - nothing
G)left everything off for several minutes and retried - nothing
H) turned off IP conv and video processing on receiver - nothing (although afaik the receiver doesn't process video when going through HDMI, just pass through)
I) turned off HDMI control on TV - nothing
J) set receiver to pass through audio to TV - no sound
The HDMI indicator on receiver up solidly when PS3 is turned on; display screen States PCm.then I flick the TV selection to the correct tv port, HDMI indicator flicks on and off, then remains solidly on. I assume this means that the handshake between source, receiver, and display worked (or is it just source and receiver that it indicates?)
Anybody have any ideas what's wrong? Any other ideas on what rlse to try? Will resort to taking it in to see if I somehow damaged the output port but it's freaking expensive in New Zealand to repair AV stuff. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
