Newegg has a very good deal on these speakers -

MartinLogan MLT-2 5.1CH Premium Home Theater Speaker System Black System

I am not an audiophile and I currently have an older onkyo HTIB system. I'm not ready to upgrade the receiver (just spent all my $$$ on a new tv). But if these are too good too pass up (over 60% savings). I might just jump on these and wait to get my new receiver (looking at onkyos, either the 609, 360 or 370, just waiting on sales and $$).

Any advice or input would be great.

Thanks

P.S. the promo code for the speakers expires on 8/11 so I have a week or so.

I heard the MLT-1 and they sound pretty good for the price. I can only imagine that the MLT-2 sounds better with the bigger woofer.

I heard these were actually made by Paradigm so I did some research. If you take a look at the Paradigm Cinema 70&90, they look very similar to the MLTs and the specs are very very similar also. Could be the same exact speaker.

Well, "any" speaker is going to be an upgrade.

The MLT-1 is still tiny, but the tweeter is a HUGE improvement. I like these better than the Klipsch Quintet.

I would try the MLT-2, I am not a big fan of sub/sat systems. However, this

would be my first choice. Most anything will beat the midrange and treble of

the Onkyo speakers.
