Advice on new Center for home theater currently using Klipsch

2024 Views 16 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  RBhifi
Currently in a 17x16 room and looking to replace center Klipsch RP 250C

Using a 5.1.2 setup with R-12 SW, RP240S, RP260

Should I get the 504C or is there a better option out there.

You can get the RP-450C which is identical but a couple hundred bucks less:

Or, if you are not a devout "timbre matching" believer, you can get a center from a whole other speaker company:

You'll need to tell us what kinds of limitations you have on length, width, and height. Also see here for ideas and discussion:

Not much limitation. Currently needs to be laid flat. The 64 III would probably fit and is not out of the price range but my receiver is a Denon 910 w. 95 watts per channel

The watt rating on the receiver is not for all channels, all channels it will be maybe somewhere 65-90 watts, but not sure on your specific model.

If you are looking at the RC64 III I would say to contact Cory at Paducah home theater, as they might be able to quote you a better price than online/store listings of retail.

Would the denon 910 w power it? 95 watts per channel? I am leaning toward the 450C

Any receiver can power either of these Klipsch speakers, they're not difficult loads at all.

I'd get the 450C over the RC64, and put the savings into a decent sub where you'll see far better ROI.

I Agree with Zorba, any of the receivers can power them easily as they are efficient speakers. And also agree 200% on the 450c+ rest towards a better sub, as it will make a huge difference difference in your home theater. I went from a Klipsch R-120SW to a single Fv15HP and the upgrade was massive and movies feel more immersive

RC-64 III.
If you can swing the dimensions the Power Sound Audio 210C center will run great on the power you have. Extremely efficient and very smooth top end with gobs of clarity.

See some comments on what owners say about them.

I've got to agree. If you're willing to spend the money on a Klipsch RC 64 lll, the PSA MTM-210C($1025), or the more budget friendly MTM-210C-M ($800, china built enclosure only difference) deserves a serious consideration.
Thanks for all the advice. I am possibly getting a new home theater system installed and the installer is recommending a in wall Martin Logan Center to go with the rest of my Klipsch speakers. I can't find much on them review wise.

If you come back here You'll only be back to brag.

Pay the installer for installation labor ONLY.
The last thing you want to do is to order ANYTHING through an installer---not speakers, not the sub, electronics, or even CABLES.

If nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to do in-walls, don't...at least not for the critical front 3.

Don't do in-walls unless you have no other choice. Anyway you slice it, using in-walls is a compromise.

Don't go with a in-wall center channel speaker. I believe you will be very happy with either the PSA MTM-210C, or Klipsch RC-64-lll . 😉..🍻
