Hi!

I got my Panasonic this week and everything is sweet, except I can't change the resolution to 1280x720 50Hz on my Radeon 9700 VGA port. I guess setting up the system goes like this:

- attach VGA cable to the pc and the ae500. Turn the projector on.

- extend the desktop to secondary port of the video card in Display Properties/Settings. Windows XP finds the projector.

- run PowerStrip and go to Display profiles/Configure/Advanced timing options/Custom resolutions and choose predifened reso 1280x720 HDTV. Click add new resolution. Reboot and choose the custom reso again in the front page of the PowerStrip.

In my case after rebooting there is no new resolution to reselect...

I have now used 800x600 60HZz and it's far from enjoyable plus there is wasted light/space around the image.

Any ideas for solution?

Thank you!!!

Hahaa, I found a solution at dtvmax.com/radeon_guide.htm

But for Win XP you should look for DALNonStandardModesBCD in the Windows registry and especially for secondary Radeon device. Change some of the unnecessary value rows to 1280 0720 00 00 00 00. The key DALNonStandardModesBCD is in several places, so do several searches and edit. Reboot and change the resolution in Display Properties/Settings.
