From the posts I've made to this forum, it's apparent that I own a SW-12 and am just astounded by the quality of sound it presents. However, I thought that in the interest of fairness, I'd post this. The volume control on the preamp uses IR codes that cause the level of the sub to change in the opposite direction. Not a very smart design IMO.

The other annoyance is the laser sharp, blinding blue light on the front of the subwoofer (there are a bunch of them, but the blue is of particular brightness). There is a "light" button on the machined remote that actives a flashlight (!?), instead of dimming the display. Another oversight IMO.

Still, I highly recommend this subwoofer. The performance is exceptional.

Regards, Mark

I use hardare store 1" wide black cloth masking tape to cover the remote window when I'm not changing the remote volume, so no light!

With my DirecTV receivers and Theta Casablanca remotes, I have the same darn problem - another reason I use that black cloth.

ProceedBob, thanks for the info about the small piece of plastic filter. I was unaware of this. I'll call Aerial and get them for my subs. Are you saying these will cure the problem. And where do you place the filters, on the white cord outside the amp/inside the sub that is the computer hookup?
