I'm looking for a nice (preferably wood) stand that can support my soon to be purchased 60" Kuro and also hold my center channel speaker and 4 audio/video components.


The Sanus lowboy is a solid option, but I'm open to "knockoffs" as well, so if you know of anything, please let me know!

The WFV66 is a outstanding, great looking stand.


A very attractive alternative is the Techcraft SWP60 .


The best solution, I think is the StudioTech U-22T CH/B

May not be your cup of tea, but you can build one to your desired specs, is rock solid, looks decent, and is dirt cheap.


The parts required are:


(4) 24" long 3/4" diameter threaded rods.


3/4 " MDF board cut to your desired shelf sizing (i.e. 48"X 32").

You can simply use a top and bottom shelf or place a third in between.


You will need 3/4" nuts and washers to screw the shelves to the rods.


You simply drill holes in each corner and put the rods through each and screw the nuts and washers on the top and bottom of each hole.


You can paint to match your decor and it will perform as well as anything you buy off the shelf for probably less than $50.

I still love my BDI Avion although the optional plasma mount can only support up to 55". I've been told that they may be introducing a new product this fall that will support plasma mounting up to 60" although its yet to be seen if the current avion 5029 will support it. Check i would also check out the avion noir, meriden and novia on their site as well.


I also recommended to see if their is a local furniture dealer near you when purchasing one of these because I found them a few hundred cheaper there vs buying it at an electronic store.
