Does anyone own an Akai CFT3090? Has anyone seen or played around with one at a Sam's Club? It is an analog tube widescreen with 480i. I might be interested in getting one as Directv should be nice and can still display 16:9 material. At $500 the price is tempting.

Does anyone know what kind of picture quality it has and is it reliable?

Thanks in advance.

I have seen the Akai at Sam's and was very impressed with the picture. I couldn't get them to run anything to it except the same "Sam's Club" promo CD that every other set was getting, but for $500, it was far and away the best picture in the aisle. I wish they had more 16 X 9 offerings.

This year Akai will be offering a 26", 30" and 34" widescreen hdtv selection. They will be very similar to the Samsung TXN line but will only be sold at Sam's Club and should be a touch cheaper. I am really interested in the CFT3090 analog model. Were the scan lines really visible? Did the styling look nice?

Cheers once again.
