So I bought me an AKG Perception 220 Studio Condenser Microphone, what do i need to get so I can hook it up to my computer?

I know I need a Mic Cable, but my mic knowledge ends there.

Link to the type of mic:

Let me know what cable and what else I need to get a decent vocal recording.

Like most condensor mics, that one needs phantom power. So the first thing you need is a standard microphone cable, which you will use to connect your mic to a mic preamp with phantom power. You can find mic preamps either:

1. As standalone boxes

2. In mixing consoles

3. As part of USB or Firewire audio interfaces

If you go with #1 or #2, you can get a cable to plug the mic preamp or mixer into your existing soundcard. If you go with #3, you'll just plug the mic into the audio interface and then plug the interface into your USB port. The choice depends first on whether you've got a good soundcard already, then on price, number of tracks you might want to record simultaneously, etc.
