I Did little research on main speakers to be paired with the panny rx-25. Sound preferable warm, rich, and dynamic. My configuration will be most likely 2 speakers with centre and a sub. I will use it for 70%music, 10% game and 10% movie in a small room. Costs are also main consideration for me as i am student with limited budget. Thank you for replying me


However i am difficulity to choose between Athena speaker AS-B1 ( on ebay it's US$99 plus buy 2 pairs free shipping!!), Paradigm( perhaps atom or titan model), JBL E20, and tannoy (used Mercury MK3, , or new mX2).


Can somebody tell me if its better go with 2 pairs AS-B1 or 1 pair AS-B2 ?

hows this speaker sound ?


I also considering centre with the same brand ( i want to timbre match them) JBL EC25, Paradigm CC-250 or CC-300, Athena AS-C1,or Tannoy (Saturn S8C, or revolution rc) model


Which one should i go for ? why should i go for particular brand over another ? please explain as i am NEWBIE with not more than 2 weeks experience. Does my receiver support floorstanding speaker ?

Yes your receiver has the power to push floor standers. Regardless of whether they are "book shelf" or "floor stander" is irrelevant as to the Panny's abilities. While the Panny has been measured at 82 watts with all channels driven, consider the impedance and sensitivity of the speaker. I have the XR50 and use JBL speakers all the way around- 8 ohms and 89-91 db. I think these are the best value out there.


For example, you can get the JBL EC35 center channel for $350 at Best Buy or pay $139 at deal-Stop, both new. You can also pick up the E30's for about $130 as well.

Well, I'm a Paradigm fan so that would be my vote, I use Paradigm Studio's and love them.

Well i appriciated the reply much thank you. Now i know that my receiver will able to push the either floorstander or bookshelf.


Now i need to know which speaker to choose among above. Any other suggestion guys ?
