I'm wondering if this makes any sense.
I had posted the question about WYBN not coming in as well as usual. Here's what I found out.
Last weekend I replaced my upstairs TV. It was a standard (non "smart") Samsung set from several years ago. About two months ago, I replaced my Channel Master pre-amp, with the new Televes Dual Output unit. Everything was fine...and I've been learning the quirks of the Televes. Shortly after I installed the new TV, which is an Insignia "smart" TV, WYBN & WFNY started acting strange. These two stations are the weakest ones I get. The injector on the Televes has two outputs (for two TV's). As it turns out, when both outputs are connected (one to the upstairs TV and the other going downstairs) the signal strength to WYBN on the DOWNSTAIRS TV drops below 40% and won't even lock! Upstairs, it's solid! If I unhook the UPSTAIRS coax from the Televes, WYBN is back to 60% downstairs.
I ended up stabilizing the signal by attaching a splitter to the Televes injector, so now there's only ONE output being utilized by the Televes, and the splitter connects the coax to each TV. Keep in mind........ this was NOT NECESSARY when the older TV was connected upstairs! Somehow, connecting the new set, screwed it up! Does that make ANY sense to anyone???
