The season finale of Alias on May 4 is a 2-hour special. This may cause

unexpected conflicts in the Sun 10p-11p slot so adjust your shows

accordingly.

Get ready for lots of conflicts. This sweeps period is going to have quite a few double-length season and series finales. And I think NBC is going to be super-sizing the must-see Thursday sit-coms.

We don't have no stinkin seasons passes so we don't suffer from

30-day rule blues ;) ;) Our conflict resolution works great, Replay

knows what to record all on its own. It's so smart it doesn't even

need to ask us what to do like that other recorder ;) ;)

On a serious note, xmltv is a godsend for detecting these conflicts.

I just wish my replay unit would email me once a day with a list of time

slots for the day where it has more than one choice to record and which

one it is going to choose if I do nothing.

I assume you mean the tv_check part of xmltv. Thank you. :)

I have a script that runs tv_grab_na, tv_check and emails the output to my mother. PM or email me if you want it.

[EDIT: Oops.. forgot about ReplaySchedule.... ( I don't have a 4k+ so can't use it) Maybe he uses that. ]

I use replayscheduler with xmltv to check with a single click of my mouse button both what I am using ReplayTV to record (in chronological order)- and what recording conflicts.

Go here for the entire thread as well as a copy and paste batch file to automate the tasks:

Thanks for the pointers and suggestions. I think we've taken convenience

to its limit with the current zap2it licensing (personal use)

In a moment of optimism I was just dreaming how Replay could be.

My RAID storage box emails me when it is having HD problems. My

firewall emails me when it detects suspicious behavior. All I had to

do was enter an email address. I wish Replay would work as simply :)

So how can I make sure that this will record? Do I need to turn off the other shows or anything else wierd?

If you disable your current Alias record and create a new recording for Alias

it'll tell you if there are any conflicts. If not, don't worry about it. If so

eliminate the conflicts either by changing them to non-guaranteed or

removing them. Schedule on another recording device if necessary.

Well the obvious answer is to simply watch the show as it's on after all, with Jennifer Garner, I want all I can get.

Although a few episodes ago, I did replay over the black and red outfits many times. What a hottie :O

I've also noticed she looked better when the show was kicking ass and taking names last season, now the worser the show gets the (slightly) worser she looks.
