CD, DVD, SACD, DVD-A, HD DVD, and BD. Build it and I will come
. Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the only one, and I'd gladly pay $1500-2000 for it. CE's, just do it!

Some might want MP3 support and some other miniscule formats but I think those are the majors.

Personally, I find it intolerable that -- at this moment -- I have to limit the movies I watch based on the HD DVD player's format. Until there is one machine to rule them all, I'll suffer with my up-converting OPPO and movies broadcast in HD.

I refuse to let these corporate monoliths dictate which films I can watch in HD on their machines.

All I want is a Blu-Ray player from a reputuable company (no Pioneer) that will play CDs, DVDs, Dolby Tru-HD, DTS-HDMA, PCM, and DVD-Audio with excellent 1080i outputing and 7.1 Analog Outputs! HDMI v1.3 will be nice but not the most important attribute.

Can someone please do this!

"next gen" ha ha

That would also be the Panasonic player. No hitches at all. Well worth the extra $cratch if you got it.

I hope Onkyo takes this player and adds HD DVD and Divx support.

Following up on the success of its predecessor, the DV-SP504 universal DVD/CD player stands out as a versatile player that is well-positioned for the emergence of high-definition entertainment. It's the inclusion of the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) that makes the DV-SP504 a superb choice for delivering high-definition movies in 720p or 1080i formats, high-resolution music, and more recent formats like HD JPEG (megapixel images with enhanced resolution). On the audio front, the inclusion of three Cirrus Logic CS4398 digital-to-analog converters takes audio performance into a totally different league. Onkyo's own technologies come into play with Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) and Direct Digital Path to protect audio signals from the most destructive elements to quality movies and musicpulse noise and noise emanating from a player's internal components.

Then if need be they can replace it with something that adds BD support in late 2008
