Hi!

I have bought a cheap bg1209/2 partsmachine in a no working condition.

The blue crt was broken into 1000 pieces and the projector was quite dirty inside.

I'm planning on keeping the projector for parts, if my 1209/2 would break down eventually, but I'd like to get it running, to make sure everything works.

I spend some hours cleaning the projector - totally disassembled and then reassembled without the blue crt. The defl.coil are connected.

I dont know when the blue crt broke - It may have happend then the projector was in use or mabye when it was removed from installation.

It was'nt without excitement when I turned the thing on, after assembling it :p

well - it does power up like normal, I am able to change source and all the diagnosticsleds are fine.

But there's no picture.... or allmost no picture - adding brightness and the green raster lights up, and I can see the picture being displayed, but very faint - the menus are present, but to faint to read. Same with sources connected.

Nothing on the red crt.

I could start swapping boards from one end to another, but would prefer to be lead in the right direction first, as I dont know if there it a risk, damaging any of my working boards.

Any ideas??

Well - after swapping about every board in this machine with no luck, I began looking in the CRT area for a dead tube, neckboard or similar.

The actual problem was the red neckboard not seated properly, or one of the connection wires to it.

well my own fault, not assembling the thing properly, but what the h... - rather this than a broken crt or module .;)

The pj seems to be running fine, is has 5700 hours on it!

In fact quite hard to belive that it's working, considering the state I got it in.

Thats a thing I allways liked about Barcos - build like tanks and quite easy to troubleshoot

Brian-

For such a success story you need to post pictures of the before and after with (screen shot).

Or at least a picture of a smoking CRT about to go into flame for more Dramatic event. :)
