hello all,

in relation to my other post, is there any alternative input that will work on the ampro 3600 when the RGBV card is bad?

I have an Svideo card in it with a signal hooked up but i can seem to get past the 08 at 54 error on the lcd remote..

i was hoping to at least be able to hook up an svideo signal to get going.

I cant even get a test pattern at this point..any help appreciated

(including those that have helped before)

Jim,

The RGB1 card outputs the RGB to the CRT amplifier cards. I think that the Quad Decoder only modifies the composite/s-video inputs and still feeds the output thru the RGB1 card to the amp cards. Your error refers to a specific IC on the RGB1 card (IC15). Replacing the IC fixes the problem.

I have had the same error and have had to replace the card because I cannot find anyone to burn replacement ICs. I cant justify buying a burner just for this application. However, this is the fourth or fifth time this same error has shown up on the forum. Maybe someone with a burner will come to our rescue one day. I'm saving my old RGB1 module just in case.

This EEPROM ( http://www.semiconductors.com/pip/S87C751.html ) seems to be sensitive to arcing or static discharges even though it is assembled and grounded on the motherboard. Make sure you are properly grounded when working inside the Ampro and that you fully discharge the unit before pulling/seating any of the harnesses.

I hope you are successful in repairing the card rather than having to replace it. I can loan you an IC if you capable of getting a dump burned.

I will post a message when i figure out which direction i am going..

I know plenty of people with burners, but i do not know about this specific chip size....Jimmy

Curt Palme will probably have a replacement input card for you.
