Just make sure you have a good quality DVI cable. Ram, one of the sponsors here is supposed to work well for this length. I will be doing the same soon.
I have a 50 ft DVI from Bluejeans, works fine.
If you can get away with 33 ft, I'd go with the nice, affordable ($64) 10m cable from http://www.pchcables.com. It uses really nice, thick wire. You can't buy a better one.

Otherwise, they also sell a 15m cable for just under $100. Good luck!

THE QUALITY OF THE CABLE IS ONE PART OF THE EQUATION!

THE OTHER PART IS THE DVI IMPLEMENTATION ON BOTH THE HTPC CARD AND YOUR PROJECTOR!

TO BEGIN WITH AN ATI CARD MAY OFFER AN ADVANTAGE OVER NVIDIA AS IN SOME HARDWARE TESTS THE FORMER SEEMS TO HAVE A BETTER DVI EMITTER...
im looking for an affordable dvi->hdmi for my ae700 (well not here yet but ordered), that was using a VGA.

30 ft cheaper cables are easy to find but 30 ft is just too short for my room and need something in the 33-35 ft run. Anybody know of a place to get a 33-35 ft cable? Or should I stick with VGA for now until HDMI is more widely used?
jagouar --- First, you have to remember that HDMI is digital only! If your video card in your MCE2005 will not output a digital signal (VGA is analog), then the HDMI will not work. Second, you might "future proof" your cabling (HDMI & DVI cables are expensive) by getting a DVI to HDMI adapter for your DVI source and get a HDMI to HDMI cable to run to your "new" (ENVY!) AE700 PJ. The adapters are a little too heavy to hang off the HDMI connector on the PJ. If you get a DVI to HDMI cable, then you will have to scrap it (or sell it on ebay) when your DVI-D sources get replaced. The prices for DVI to HDMI and HDMI to HDMI cables are about the same.

See the last page (- post #511) of the "Official Sanyo Z3 Thread" for a discussion of cable suppliers. I would recommend that you wait until you get your new PJ, and hook it up with your existing VGA cables, before investing in the HDMI. That will give you some time to get to know the PJ.
thanks everyone for your comments, looks like a 35ft. run is o.k.:) can someone please tell me why i should bother going vga or dvi hookup? is this going to give me a higher resolution, over component? please excuse my newbieness.:p :p :p

thats a very good point. i didnt know this. will have to see if htpc puts out a analog or digital thru dvi out, right?? comments??:) :)
my vga card has dvi and vga outs (was only using the vga) since dvi cables have been very expensive in the past.
