I am am Ampro 2000 owner. It has a corded remote that I would rather not use as the cord hanging down from the projector looks kind of funky. Once I finish with setup I just remove the remote and power the projector on and off with the switch on the back of the projector. When I do use the remote to turn off the projector it appears to go through a controlled shutdown. When I just use the switch the shutdown is, of course, immediate. Am I risking damage to my projector by doing this?

You can put an extension on that corded remote and route it wherever you want... Route it with your power and video and then out to where you'd want it. I would think that would be better, but a lot of installations seem to yank the power or flip the switch like you describe without adverse affects.


I think I have a couple 25' extensions around...
