I currently have a Theatermaster remote that must be programmed by my home theater installer every time I make a change to my system.

I'd like to switch to a remote that I can program myself (prior to switching from DirectTV to FIOS and getting a BlueRay player.)

I am not by any means an expert in this stuff, but for my family's sanity, I need a remote that will turn on the Receiver and set it to the correct input, the TV, and the cable box in the correct order with the press of a button, and do the same for things like a Wii, DVD/BluRay, or music settings.

Can somebody recommend a remote that can be setup by a computer savvy home theater amateur that will allow for this. I don't need anything that controls lighting - just a remote that will eliminate the need for 5 remotes and will allow my kids to figure out how to switch from TV to games to movies, etc.

I appreciate any help.

I have five remotes before I bought Logitech Harmony 880. Now all the other remotes are inside a cabinet never to see the light of day again. The Harmony is great for my wife. There is only one button for her to push - Watch TV. That will turn on everything that is needed to watch tv and put equipment in the right mode. Maybe another one to turn all equipment off. Dont worry about the kids. They will figure it out. I am happy with it. Oh, if you have a Sony playstation like PS3, you will have to buy a Logitech adapter.

I have a brand new URC MX-450 and the new MRF-260 RF base station for sale in the AVS classifieds. You can learn more here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/vbcla...do=ad&id=13005

I am selling both for less then the price of the remote itself...you can program it directly from the remote without a professional and make changes easily on the remote as well should your setup change.
