Hi,

I have the Rotel RMB-1075, RSP1066 setup which I purchased in the U.S and now brought the setup back home to Cyprus where we use 230-240V electricity as opposed to the 110-115V used in the States.

Obviously I use a voltage converter in order to use the equipment but I was wondering if it would make a difference if the converter was of a greater VA (I am currently using a 1000VA unit which converts the 110V to 240V) and if it is important to hook up a UPS system and/or a power conditioner/stabilizer. The power amp uses 120V, at 800WATTS power consumption and the Processor uses 120V, at 40WATTS consumption.

Any input would be great. Thanks.

The power rating is maximum-capacity. It doesn't 'force' electricity into the load. The greater the headroom, the cooler the transformer runs.

Which converter are you using? Does it do both frequency (50 vs 60 Hz) and voltage conversion?

I would try to have it converted so that it could be plugged into the wall. At worse a pair of wires needs to be moved on the power transformer. At best there is an internal switch.

Thanks for the input guys,

M NEWMAN : The transformer writes " 1000VA 110/240V 50/60Hz"

Swampfox : I am guessing that I would get an electrician to do that for me, right?

Thanks

According to the WEB site the units are easily converted from USA to Europe. Look in the Rotel manual or WEB site for a service center.
