I was very impressed with both the content and the image quality of this foreign film. I watched it on a Seleco HT200DM fed from a Denon DVD-2800 and the picture was outstanding. It gets a little gory at times, but I found myself transfixed -- totally sucked into the story lines. This is the kind of film that, had it been made by Hollywood, much of the film stock would have ended up on the editing room floor, thereby eviscerating the look and feel of what is a fine piece of work. The sound was also excellent.

I really liked Amores Perros. It was hyped as one of the best films last (?) year and it deserved the accolades. The transfer is much better than I would have expected. A very good film with a great treatment on DVD. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys foreign films or intelligent films. Some scenes are a little gory, but it's all apropriate.
