Everyone,

I am looking at an Integra receiver to drive a set of Paradigm Studio 100s

Paradigm ADP and CC I am looking at the Integra 9.1U2 my issue here is this the reciever is rated at 130watts/channel to all 7 channels. that is more than plenty for all my receivers except that the studio 100s require about 200watts to be driven well. here is How smart question.

well this work and if it does is it stupid to do.

I want to buy a 2 channel amp that can push the studio 100s and use it to drive my 2 front channels using the preouts on my receiver for those 2 channels.(my floorstanding studio 100s) so they will be hooked to the big amp. and for everything else the built in amp should be plenty. I hope that made since.

will this give me any issues or problems is it outrageous in any way? I am new to HI-FI stuff so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Many people do exactly what you're talking about.

Add a 2 channel stereo amplifier to their receiver to get a little more gusto out of music or to drive difficult speakers. You're on the right track. Just be sure you listen to your Integra/Paradigm setup first to make sure you actually need more power.
