just curious if anyone else has had problems with big theater amps popping arc faults when turning on. my amps dont pop a regular breaker just an arc fault , my theater is in a bedroom and by code it is suposed to have an arc fault on it ,, any way just seening if any one else has had similar problems .

Yes, I have read that on other forums and newsgroups.

Arc-faults are far from perfect.

(what brands of amps?)

What kind of panel do you have? Are you still using the room as a bedroom? You say your theater is in a bedroom. If this is now a theater and not a bedroom I would put a regular 15 amp breaker in.

well I had a seperate 20 amp circuit put into the closet where all the equipment is , so yes its a dedicated home theater but its a bedroom in that it still has a closet , the bedroom outlets them self are still arc faults as well ,,


I guess what im trying to here from someone is that YES amps of this size and arc faults dont get along ,, and why its popping it , its it enough of a dead short when it fires with all the amper load that it trips it, ? thanks guys
