I was wondering what amps are similar to this amp?

What is as good or better in the same price point (on sale for $799 currently)?

I don't know if any of these will meet your price requirements, but they should all have similar performance into five channels, and should all cost $2000 or less. I'd probably consider the Emotiva most seriously, unless you need bona fide low impedance/high power handling (i.e. you have stats), and then the Rotel or one of the Parasound Halo products may be worth another look. This is in addition to the NAD.

Why not the T955 itself? I have heard great reviews about it.
