I have a samsung monitor (226bw) and samsung TV (4061F), both LCD's. PS3 hooked up to the TV. I notice there is some type of motion blur / tearing when playing games. Is this common with all LCD's ?

I think its just an LCD thing. There is no such thing has the perfect LCD/HDTV. I noticed this from most reviews

Sharp suffers from banding

Samsung suffers from TBE and stutter

Sony suffers from ghosting

Toshiba suffers from Green light effect

Only with the 69/71 series. Since 61/65/66 don't have AMP & 120Hz, there is no TBE or stutter on those models.

Sharp makes a gamer series of LCDs with no tearing and very low input lag. The LC32GP1U I have has no banding or clouding problems. The newer Samsungs are a lot better but they still have noticeably higher input lag, which is different from what you describe, but still a problem for me when playing games.

I've owned a LNT-4071F series 2002 model for about 3 days and so far I haven't experienced anything like that. However I have read that others who own this series but have a 1013 model have suffer from this.

thanks for all the info.

I noticed with my montior if i enable V-sinc through the games or nvidia control panel on desktop it stops the tearing issue i was having.

Now is there any function like that on the TV? I see there is "game mode" , but ive had that on since day one.

Maybe the PS3 has the V-Sinc ? hmmm
