Anbody have experience with MBL 4004 Pre-amp

I have heard good things about the German made MBL products. The MBL 4004 is considered to be one of their low-end products and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with it (specifically its sound quality - warm, sharp, tonal, etc.) - there is not much on the net about these. I am thinking of matching it with a Bryston 3BSST and a pair of Paradigm Studio 100 v3s. Any comments / cautions / recommendations are most welcome.


Are there any other pre-amps in the $2000 range I should audition?
