Has anyone tried any of the many apps that allow your Android phone to be a mouse and/or keyboard? There seem to be several of them, but the comments about them are questionable.

At least 75 people have looked at this question, and no response. Interesting that no one here has seemingly tried it. That doesn't make me want to be the first.

I use gmote, its a great app but I don't use the mouse or keyboard function much. It has a much quicker list/menu option that works faster and easier in my mind. One issue that it has is that if your computer is hooked up to a router and you reboot you have to input the ip address again. Personally I would like to see them use the motion sensing feature of android phones to make it like an "air mouse" kind of like a wii controller. My brother baught a remote for his HTPC that does exactly that, but it lacks the menu feature of the android phone. I have also found that I like to have a wireless mouse and keyboard when I want to do any serious typing or web browsing.

Remote Droid works well, even allows for dual monitor setups.
