Android streaming to Denon AVR 1713

Hi Everyone,

I am hoping you can help this old man help his wife. My wife got a bunch of our records put onto CD's. We then took those CD's and did something called ripping to our PC. We then used Google Play Music and uploaded all our music there.

We currently use Android phones, LG Optimus G Pro phones with the Google Play Music app. We want to be able to stream our music from our phone to the reciever. How do we do this? Our reciever is hardwired to router, so is the kids PS4 and a Panasonic 55ST30. The wifi is on the weaker end up there which is why everything is hardwired. Thanks for any help.

Also what is the best way to wire my phone to the 1713, which wire and where? Thanks. My phone has micro usb and Headphone jacks
There are a number of Android DLNA apps (eg. BubbleUPnP, Twonkybeam) that you can use. To wire the phone to the AVR, use a mini-USB to USB cable and connect to the USB input on the front panel of the AVR.

Hi JDS. I attempted to use the micro usb/usb cable from my charger. The only place to plug it in was the port labeled Airplay/USB. I plugged it there and could not get any sound. The only other port is labled AUX/HDMI. Maybe my cable is a dedicated charging cable only? Any other advice

Hi petes67bird, try turning up the volume on the Android phones.
I did try that thanks. I have an audio cable red/white connection plugged into the DVD ports on the back of the receiver. The other end of the cable is like a headphone jack and I plug it into my phone. The sound comes out ok, but it isnt nearly as loud as streaming pandora from the actual receiver. This is with my phone turned all the way up.
I just downloaded Bubble. Do i have to do anything special, turn the receiver to any certain setting?
If you want the app to be able to power on the AVR and start streaming, set the IP Control setting (p. 101 OM) to "Always ON"

Thank you for your help. I downloaded the bubble UPnP but one they make specifically for DLNA for Gmusic. Works great.

One last question. How do I set up my system so I can stream music through the speakers and watch TV without volume. Right now my TV is HDMI into the AVR1713 . Thanks
The newer model X1000 can do this easily, but on your older 1713 you'll need to connect a component video cable from the cable/sat box to the 1713, otherwise connect the cable/sat box HDMI directly to the TV with optical from the cable/sat box to the 1713.
Would connecting the directv genie directly to the TV and optical to the receiver be/sound as good as the setup where TV is connected to the receiver? Will I run into issues with the bluray I have hooked up?
