n00b here.
I recently purchased and installed a Peavey 2-way stereo/3-way mono crossover. I'm using it as a 2-way crossover to send the low signal to my sub. I notice an annoying hum coming out of one channel. Even with only mixer -> crossover -> amp and no A/V devices connected to the mixer, I get the hum out of one of the channels. I've swapped cables and all, and I cannot figure out what is going on. Everything is plugged into a power conditioner which of course is plugged into one outlet only.
When I disconnect the cable from the crossover to the amp, the hum goes away. There shouldn't be a ground loop because everything is plugged into one circuit via the power conditioner. I'm using XLR cables to connect everything.
Does anyone have any ideas? Could it be that the crossover is defective?
